LRS and Alameda County Employees' Retirement Association (ACERA) Partnership Continues
2/19/2020

A great business relationship will continue for many more years as the Alameda County Employees’ Retirement Association (ACERA) moves forward with a PensionGold® Version 3 software implementation.
It was back in 1999 when ACERA awarded LRS a contract to implement PensionGold Version 2 software as the replacement to their legacy system. That project was completed in 2001, and since that time ACERA added member portal functionality, an interface with their electronic document management system, and a workflow solution.
Over the years and through changes at both organizations, ACERA received exceptional service and value with PensionGold Version 2. Changes to the California 1937 Act - County Employees Retirement Law, in particular the Public Employees’ Pension Reform Act, posed challenges that were handled effectively with teamwork on the part of both ACERA and LRS.
Desiring to move to a new technology platform that could improve operating processes, ACERA issued a Request for Information (RFI) for a Pension Administration System and Support Services. The resulting RFI responses along with a thorough due diligence process led ACERA to the decision to retain LRS for an installation of the PensionGold Version 3 software and extensions.
Talking about LRS and what the new project means to her organization, Kathy Foster (Deputy CEO) said, “Our relationship with LRS has been a real asset to ACERA. We want to leverage new technology and provide our staff with the tools they need to be as efficient as possible in their jobs. We truly believe LRS and PensionGold Version 3 put us in the best position to meet those objectives and help us achieve our mission to provide superior member services.”
ACERA, located in downtown Oakland, CA, serves nearly 24,000 plan members including active employees, deferred members, retirees, beneficiaries, and disabled payees.
